The Detritus Project

A featured element of the Purple Hills Arts Festival in 2014, The Detritus Project is a multi-faceted installation piece which celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the Creemore area. This exhibit features the excavated stone piles of my Mulmur farm rearranged in the interior of the Creemore Log Cabin.  The display includes the broken agricultural implements, tin cans, bottles and other unwanted refuse left behind over the previous 167 years.  It also includes the tiny fragments of metal, glass and ceramics found as a result of years of hiking, renovating and gardening. Special thanks to Purple Hills Arts and Heritage and to Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy for their support on this project.
