I will be exhibiting new work at this year's Creemore Festival of the Arts on October 1st and 2nd. Looking forward to showing at the beautiful Lagom172 store in Creemore Ontario that weekend!
Had a great time painting the Bay of Fundy in June as part of the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival. And I'm honoured that my painting, "Waterway to Cape Split" was awarded Third Place in the competition!
Excited to announce that I have been awarded the King Family Bursary for my Rose Island Specimen Project. Thanks to the Georgian Bay Land Trust for this amazing opportunity. An exhibit of the resulting work to be announced some time in 2023.
Market Gallery is celebrating 60 years of the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair by exhibiting works acquired at the Fair by the City or Toronto over the years. My painting "University Theatre" that won the Mayor's Annual Purchase Award in 1997, is included in this exhibit. The gallery is located above St Lawrence Market at 95 Front Street East, Toronto.
Looking forward to sailing Arctic waters by Tall Ship as part of The Arctic Circle Expeditionary Residency program in 2023!

I will be participating in the Ojibway Club Art Exhibit again this year. This exhibit, a fundraiser for Georgian Bay's historic Ojibway Club, runs from August 3rd to August 7th. More info at ojibwayclubartshow.com. A preview of the work will be available on the site beginning July 15th. Art will be available for purchase from August 3rd to 7th.
The Untamed Things group of artists will be exhibiting paintings from our Algoma trip at Nottawa General / Coventry Studio from June 17th until July 27th. Opening reception from 5-9pm on June 17th, 4206 County Road 124, Collingwood Ontario.
Looking forward to travelling to Nova Scotia to participate in the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival. I will be painting the Bay of Fundy and surrounding area from June 22-26th in Parrsboro, NS.
I will be participating the annual Art Gallery of Hamilton Art Sale again this year. The in person exhibit takes place from April 28th to May 1st, with an opening reception on April 28th from 5-9pm. Virtual access to the sale runs begins April 28th at 5pm. More details HERE.
The jury has selected my "Virtual Voyage (Pandemic Plein Air)" to be part of this year's Carmichael Exhibit at Orillia Museum of Art and History. Exhibit runs from November 5th to January 22nd, with an opening reception on November 6th from 1-3pm.
Recently back from an Algoma plein air adventure with some of the Untamed Things artists. We will be exhibiting this work at Double Door Gallery in Anten Mills from November 12th - 28th. Gallery is located at 4004 Horseshoe Vallery Road West, outside of Barrie. Artists James Aitken, Mark Berens, Jonathan Houghton, Paul Nabuurs, Andrew Peycha, Peter Taylor, Gary McGuffin and I will all be at the gallery on Satuday November 13th from 12-4pm. See you there!

I have been awarded Best of Show at "Visual Elements 62," Woodstock Art Gallery's Annual Juried Exhibit. This is a virtual exhibit this year, launching July 15th. Please visit the WAG website for more information.
My work has been accepted in Faces and Places of Ontario, this year's version of Paint Ontario at the Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend. The work was originally to have been exhibited from March 27th to April 19th but was postponed due to the pandemic. It will now be exhibited from September 2nd to 27th. I am honoured to have been selected to compete in the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival in Parrsboro Nova Scotia. I'm very excited to announce that my most recent portrait has been long-listed for the BP Portrait Prize, the most prestiguous portrait award in the world. Fingers crossed that I make it through the second round of jurying!!
Two of my paintings from my travels in Amazonia will be featured in a gallery in Nagoya, Japan. This exhibit, "Under the Perfect Canopy" runs from March 16th to March 31st at the Art and Mind Centre in Nagoya.

In September 2015, sixteen Simcoe County artists were inspired to initiate a Reconciliation Art Project. They came together to learn from each other, share stories, gain understanding and collaborate on a linked series of artworks. The project is titled after the Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission: “A strategy for indigenous and non-indigenous artists to undertake collaborative projects and produce works that contribute to the reconciliation process.”
Once again, I will be participating in Orillia Museum of Art and History's annual "Carmichael Canadian Landscape Exhibition: Tradition Transformed." September 28th to November 25th, with an opening on the evening of September 28th, 7-9pm.

I'm preparing a unique exhibit and mixed-media installation called "Things We Take With Us, Things We Leave Behind" for the Creemore Festival of the Arts this year. It will commemorate twenty years of my living in the Creemore community, while exploring themes of uprootedness, sentimentality, mortality, hoarding, and letting go. September 29th and 30th only, Station on the Green, in Creemore Ontario. Thanks to Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society for hosting this event and to the Ontario Arts Council for supporting this project.
My painting "Self-Portrait in the Awkward Age of iPhoto" has been selected as a finalist in the Thor TD Wealth Management Art Prize. Thirty-three works were selected from over four hundred Canadian entries. These works will be exhibited at Quest Art Gallery from August 24 to October 20th. Opening reception and announcement of awards on August 24th from 7-9pm.

My portrait entitled "Probing the Isle of Arran" has been accepted as a finalist for the Kingston Prize - Canada's national portrait competition. I am honoured to be included on this list among some exceptional artists. All finalists will be exhibited at Toronto's Artport Gallery at Harbourfront Centre, February 2 to April 22 2018. The winner of the $20,000 Prize and two Honourable Mentions will be announced at the reception in Brampton, November 4th at 7pm.

The Call to Action #83 Project is on exhibit at Art Square Gallery in Toronto (across from the AGO) from October 31 to November 14th. This is a great collaborative project on the theme of Truth and Reconcillation that features the work of 8 indigenous artists and 8 non-indigenous artists.
